AD IN (+) DEUCE (=) AD OUT (-)

AD OUT - 2005 APTA Tournament Schedule in Platform Tennis magazine, Volume 7, Issue 2. The tournaments have been played or the publication comes too late to enter. Timing of material must improve.

AD IN - Change in tax status for APTA to 501 (c) (3). A positive sign for the Association to do more charitable work and promotion of the sport.

AD OUT - The Executive Director reports that 50% of the Association budget is for Platform Tennis Magazine. Too many apples in one basket.

AD OUT - Lack of identification of photos in article on Pre-Season Testimonials in Platform Tennis Magazine Vol. 7 Issue 2. Who’s who?

AD IN - Peter Berka’s article entitled “The Paddle Bond” with the box “Phrases to Use”. Good communication makes a better team.

Deuce - The Premier Cup, an invitational prize money event, played in West Chester, Ohio. Thumbs up for a promotional effort. Thumbs down for 10-game pro-set format.

AD OUTEnormous length of time between “Material Deadline” and receipt by the APTA membership of the publication of Platform Tennis magazine. It’s difficult for articles to be timely.

AD IN - “Service gap”, the six inch erased portion of the alley line behind where it meets the corner of the service box. It’s not “new”. Its time should come now. Line changes were proposed years ago by Bob Brown of Fox Meadow Tennis Club when he chaired the Rules Committee of the APTA but were rejected.

AD OUTLack of support for the Platform Tennis Museum and Hall of Fame at the Fox Meadow Tennis Club by its membership. The “Home of Platform Tennis” was a loser.
