Tennis Hall of Fame Inductions
February 24, 2007

|

|
Gathering
prior to the induction ceremony to reminisce about the ol’ days
were (L) to (R) Bob Kingsbury, Hank Irvine, John Mangan, Chuck
Baird, Herb Fitz Gibbon and Steve Baird.
|
Bob
Kingsbury gave the induction speech for John Mangan and pointed
to a member of the audience as
one who succeeded him in winning National Championships.
|
|
|
Hank
Irvine never gives up on the court but he threw up his hands
as he thought some
of the dates mentioned by previous speakers were not accurate. |
Hall of Fame members Bill Childs
on left and David Childs at right helped Ann Brown set up chairs
for the induction ceremony. |
|
|
John
Mangan thanked everyone and sprinkled his acceptance of the honor
with humorous stories of his days on the court. |
Steve
Baird and Bob Brown helped Doug Russell slip into his Hall of Fame
green jacket as members of the audience applauded. |
|
|
The
induction speech for Doug Russell was delivered by Steve Baird
who was also caught by the camera pointing out an opponent from
days gone bye. |
Bob
Brown, Hall of Fame Committee Chairman, was Master of Ceremonies
for the induction at the Fox Meadow Tennis Club and gave the background
of the award prior to the presentation of the new members. |
