COURT ABUSE We’ve all seen it. A player loses a point and then loses his cool. A player loses the point, in frustration jumps high into screen, then hits the top of screen with his paddle. This results in dent in the screen where his foot hit the screen, and an additional dent in the screen where the paddle hit screen. Or, a player loses a tie breaker, throws his racquet across court from one door to the opposite side screen. His racquet hits the side screen resulting in permanent damage to the screen. Sadly, the above behavior is from Top 10 Nationally Ranked players at the Chicago Charities and Hinsdale Challenge tournaments this season. If this misbehavior continues by tournament players, why will clubs open their facilities to tournaments? Tournaments are a place when many non-tournament players gather to learn from the best. Unfortunately this bad example is being copied and more court abuse follows. what do you think? let me know! info@platformtennisnews.com |
